Welcome to the Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois (PNAI)! Founded in 1957, PNAI is proud to be the oldest incorporated Filipino professional nursing organization in North America. We are a voluntary, non-profit, and non-sectarian group dedicated to advancing the nursing profession through education, advocacy, community service, and member empowerment. We honor our rich Filipino heritage—but more importantly, we welcome all professional nurses who share our passion for excellence, compassion, and making a difference. As the official Illinois chapter of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA), we celebrate diversity, foster inclusion, and uplift every member through connection, growth, and recognition.

Part of our vision is to be responsive to the needs in nursing and be a force in the whole world arena of nursing. We regularly volunteer for a good cause such as the Project C.U.R.E. where we sort and pack life-saving medical supplies for communities in need around the world.

Other volunteering projects include Chicago Food Depository and Feed My Starving Children.

We are proud to have medical missions in the Philippines. Pictured is during the life-changing cataract surgeries—giving the gift of sight to those in need. Services were provided in collaboration with the Foundation of Our Lady of Peace Mission last May 2025.

Other projects included the Boyz2Men Project that made a real impact—giving 109 young boys a safe, hygienic circumcision experience.

A fun event held in partnership with the American Cancer Society, helped promote health and raise awareness about lowering cancer risk. We are proud to promote health not only to the community but also to our members while supporting a good cause!

PNAI Members are recognized for the amazing work they do in the nursing profession. The Philippine Nurses Association of Illinois Nurse Excellence Award recognize members outstanding dedication, compassion, and commitment to patient care.

Different categories include nursing administration, nursing education, clinical nurse, nurse entrepreneur and nursing research to name a few!

Join our celebrations and gatherings to meet other PNAI members! You will also have opportunities to meet PNAA members nationwide during PNAA events such as national conventions, regional events like Camp Aruga and many more!.

Expect fun and interactive gatherings from dancing, games, themed costume, and more!

Professional development opportunities will always be available! Pictured are PNAI members during the North Central Region Camp Aruga, a nursing leadership bootcamp and professional development opportunity that members can attend together with other PNAA members from different states. 2024 NCR Camp Aruga was held in Logan, Ohio.

We are committed to helping and serving our community through events such as health fairs, CPR classes, health screenings and to provide valuable health education, blood drive, and events to help out nursing students!
