The PHILIPPINE Nurses Association of
Illinois, Inc. (PNAI)

Historically, we claim to be the first professional chapter in the US and globally. Our organization was founded in 1957 by Filipino Foreign Graduates and Registered Nurses under the U.S. Exchange Nurses Program. It was the impetus in the founding of our national Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA), now with almost 50 chapters. The PNAI prides itself as the mother of our Filipino Nurses Association. We just celebrated our 60th founding anniversary, a precious diamond jubilee. The theme was Remember the Past, Embrace the Present, and Unite for a Greater Future. We stand on the shoulders of the founders and others who are gone but never forgotten, and some are still with us. Embrace the Present; there are challenges before us. We invite you to join our team to strive in working together and in Unity, we can build that bridge for a greater PNAI future and continue its enduring legacy locally, nationally, and globally.

- Gloria O. Simon, M. Ed., BSN, FN, NM.RN, PAC Immediate Past-President, PNAI, 2018-2020
